You have to laugh

Or at least, I had to, when last night’s TV news included a prudity-masked version of this picture:

Even then I knew something was up, because the journalist waved the cover in the background without any attempt to cover it. We now see just how tame the picture is.

What on earth was everybody getting worked up about? This is nudity on about the same level as “poo” and “bum” are swear words. Once again, our beloved leader (and the other one, Mr Nelson) were quick to condemn. “I hate that,” Mr Rudd was reported to say. And even if this counts as “sexualisation” it is beaten hands down by any K-mart or Target catalogue stuffed in your letter box on a regular basis. If it is sexualisation, it’s with about four layers of bracketing or inverted commas all the way back to Teniel and Lewis Caroll.

So I was glad when the girl, then 6 and now 11, hit back.

Of course, she’s a child, so she can’t possibly know her own mind.

In the meantime, we are going to have a whole new set of rules, can you believe it:

The federal Minister for Arts, Peter Garrett, who has described the publication of the photos as “needlessly provocative”, said the Government would call on the Australia Council to devise a set of protocols addressing the use of images of children in art and publications that receive government funding.

And now it seems that there can even be abuse by association:

But it was the context in which the photographs were published alongside other more disturbing sexual images in the magazine that needed to be taken into account, said the director of Women’s Forum Australia, Melinda Tankard Reist.

“The little girl is in there along with bondage images, including one of a Japanese schoolgirl in school uniform trussed up in rope while another image shows an adult woman also trussed up, with breasts and genitals exposed.”

Even then, the next bit really took me aback:

Ms Tankard Reist said it was hard to talk about art restoring dignity when another image in the magazine showed a woman being fellated by an octopus.

Excuse me?

If you can’t get your head aroun that the issue is lost on you. THt is why if you have X, whih is not illegal, it *becomes* illegal if found wth y. By assocition.

Kiddie catalog = child porn if found with X Y Z.

    Collages etc.

Why don’t you just cop to the fact that Henson et alia have a Japanese child porn fixation?

Say hello to the inside of Bill Henson’s head.

makes the legal job easier, it was a gift wasn’t it, we are en route to the Bill Henson Act. But CP prosecutions by association are absolutely standard legal fare.

The blog-owner, either genuinely didn’t know that, or was on a bit of a wind-up, (a) or (b).

So a kiddie catalogue can be rules indecent in te UK etc. *if* it is found with some of Bill Henson’s muck or other child pornography of whatever kind.

Nobuyoshi Araki is comparable to the Maquis de sade, as an ‘art form’. I think the prob with some of youOzers, is that you are simply uneducated hicks.

Araki’s use of pornography is extensively documented, the artist doesn’t pretend it isn’t pornography.

So, the link with the Japanese schoolgirl child porn phenomena, is being made for us by people who are getting Henson into more trouble.

I’ve always claimed that Henson was a pedophile icon and that the japanese child porn users, adored his work as they like Araki’s material as well.

Well, I am just a generalist. Mr Carlin is the specialist on this topic.

You are genuinely a bit like Texas. The Henson thing was jeepers, creepers. I thought I was back in Vidor with the Knights of the White Camellia. I’d give it a high hick score. Below average as a cow town. Pretty darn, down wind of being cosmopolitan.

The post title is the best response to that!

A couple of hundred Japanese schoolgirls are indecently assaulted every day on the way to school or back, I’e nothing but hatred for O’Riordan and Araki,

They’re just sick bastards on the other side of the world. Henson is the same, a kiddie porn fetish icon for the Japanese. Who are as we kow addicted to child porn.

I don’t think Mr Carlin’s comments are adding anything to the discussion. I intend that to be the last appearing here.
